Welcome to the LDS Fiction/LDS Fiction Review Comments Contest!
Each week you can enter to win a sponsoring LDS fiction title posted at the TOP of the sidebar, under the label "LDS Fiction Contest Sponsors." It's easy and it's fun.
Trivia Tuesday!
Trivia questions about the books on this site will be posted to the Contest site every Tuesday. Read the questions and follow the instructions to enter to win a book.
CLICK HERE to go to Trivia Tuesday posts. The most recent Trivia Tuesday will be on top. (If you've never played Trivia Tuesday before, feel free to catch up and post comments for all the TT's you've missed. Every comment earns you an entry for a free book.)
Comment on LDS Fiction or LDS Fiction Review!
Read a book posted on this site or on LDS Fiction Review, then leave a thoughtful comment about it. Each comment earns you an entry for a free book. The more thoughtful comments you leave, the more chances you have to win. (And while you're leaving a comment, give the book a star rating!)
To make sure your comments are eligible to win one of the sponsoring books:
- Trivia Tuesday is one comment per person. Comments should follow the posted rules which will vary from week to week.
- Thoughtful comments on any post on this site or on the LDS Fiction Review site do not have to be long, but they should express a legitimate opinion of the title you're commenting on.
Thoughtful comments:
I liked the characterization of this book. . .
The plot was confusing and it didn't appeal to me.
Not thoughtful comments:
This book was cool.
This book was stupid. - Simply commenting "That's cool" or "Way to go" on multiple posts does NOT count as thoughtful comments.
- Anonymous comments are excluded from the contest.
- Mean and vicious comments are excluded from the contest.
- Comments that have nothing to do with the post are excluded from the contest
- I am the sole judge of what IS and IS NOT an eligible comment.
- Contest begins each Saturday at 12:01 a.m. and ends the following Friday at midnight. All comments "expire" at the end of the week—they don't roll over to make you eligible to win a prize the next week.
- The time and date stamp on the comment, NOT the date of the post being commented on, determines which prize week the comment is eligible for.
- Each comment constitutes a separate entry in the weekly contest.
- Prizes are awarded according to randomly selected numbers, using Random.Org.
- Winners will be posted some time each Saturday at the Contests site.
- Winners must e-mail their mailing address to me within one week of winning or their prize will be forfeit. Forfeited prizes will be offered in Last Chance and/or 24 Hour response time posts.
- Winners must live within the U.S. (Sorry about that. It's just too difficult and costly to mail books out of the country.)
- Prizes are mailed directly to the winner by the sponsor.
- Each new week begins a new contest. Since each week's contest winner is randomly selected, it is possible that the same person could win a prize in consecutive weeks.
- Although I cannot imagine a problem developing, I have been advised to state the following: LDS Publisher herself, the company she works for, her family, friends, neighbors, etc., etc., etc. CAN NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE for any outcome, positive or negative, that may or may not arise from participation in this contest, including but not limited to: failure to receive prize for any reason whatsoever; individual blog/website traffic or lack thereof as generated by participation on this blog and/or its contests; or anything else that may or may not irk you. SPONSOR AND PLAY AT YOUR OWN RISK.
The purpose of these contests is to encourage you to read the book blurbs posted on LDS Fiction and the reviews posted on LDS Fiction Review and then to go purchase and read the books that sound interesting to you. Please participate in the spirit of this purpose.
